Actually in my college i.e aurora technological research Institute attendance is taken very seriously as per JNTU norms they follow a rule that every student should have minimum of 75% attendance so every years we find a good number of students getting detained because of attendance problem, so one of our collegemate Syed Junaid have developed an application using ms excel i.e universal student attendance calculator that’s how he names it but i think i would be better if we call it as student attendance management system. very soon you will know why ?
These are the some of the features of the application:
calculates your attendance percentages (that’s obvious), and you can specify your own Time tables with no of classes there names etc etc hoildays, if you just give input to it for a week it will generate for the rest of the year considering weekends as holidays which is the case in our college, but the thing that you need to update it regularly every day with your attendance but if you miss some ware then don’t worry it has a provision to take attendance value from a particular date and start from there these value can be taken from the our college office or they will be displayed on notice board every month. the one feature which is really interesting and usefull is that it extrapolates our attendance that is if u say at your going to absent for next 2 days to the program then it will calculate the attendance till the end assuming you are present for remaining all days the then will check if it is less that 75 if so then it warns you if not then it will give the crucial days that you should not miss to college whole lot of other futures also included, just have a try at it , i recommend all ATRI students to use it,

Try using the password without CAPS
and only the cells which are required to edit are givin the wite permission
other cell;s are locked ( for Program Safety, as it will clash with the formula’s)
Editable Cells have an Note on them ( “RED MARKER” ) read it before entering data
